A plan for a family of four visiting Walt Disney World for nearly nothing, including airfare, 5 nights spent in a hotel on Disney property, and 4 days spent in the parks, is provided below. This vacation has a street value of $4,000–$5,000 and should be easier to plan than the typical Disney-bound family has to save for their trip.
Even though Walt Disney World has been progressively increasing the price of its vacations for, well, ever, it may still be quite expensive to visit the Mouse today. There are many things to spend money on, including the free Fastpass service that has been replaced by the $20 per day Genie+, upcharge activities like making lightsabers that cost $200 or more, and must-do dining experiences like Oga’s Cantina on the authentic Star Wars planet of Batuu.
- It Will Require Some Preparation & Effort
First things first: My strategy WILL NOT bring you to Walt Disney World the following week. You can get a 4-day, 5-night Disney World vacation for about $100, but it may take you up to a year of meticulous planning and credit card management. Assuming a $4,000 value, you would need to save $308 per month for a year in order to pay for the same trip on your own, which would be a formidable task for many families. The subsequent trip won’t require nearly as much planning or lead time after you become accustomed to this and accumulate a nest egg of points and miles.
- You Will Apply Jointly With Another Person For Several Credit Cards.
With this strategy, you and your partner will each apply for a few credit cards, each of which has a minimum spending threshold that must be satisfied in order to receive the reward. Can you fast reach those minimum spends? Yes, however given that doing so would likely result in debt for most families, we do not support it. Debt-related issues are not at issue here.
